The CNRS is seeking a researcher to work on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into polymer synthesis, an area with limited national expertise. The project aims to foster interdisciplinarity across four laboratories (CP2M, ICS, IMP, LCPO) specializing in polymer synthesis and soft matter modeling. The goal is to leverage advances in combinatorial chemistry and machine learning to design new functional polymers, inspired by biological systems and recent successes like DeepMind's AlphaFold2.
The researcher may contribute to teaching at the undergraduate or master's level in synthesis, properties of polymers, modeling, and data mining. The project emphasizes open science, aiming to make research outputs accessible and reusable, and encourages dissemination through publications, patents, software, and public engagement activities. The project also seeks to enhance the science-society interface, informing public decision-making and initiating participatory science initiatives.
