The European Commission seeks a researcher to model submarine cable dynamics, requiring skills in numerical simulations and finite-element methods. The role, based in France, focuses on developing simulations in near-real-time for large deformations, backed by comprehensive bibliographical research.

The mission consists in modeling and simulating the dynamics of a submarine cable. The study must be carried out in a geometrically exact framework, with large deformations and displacements. The simulation must be sufficiently robust and efficient to be implemented in near-real time.
The person recruited will have to carry out an exhaustive bibliographical study on the dynamics of beam models in large transformations. Secondly, it will be necessary to construct a finite-element method for solving the system of differential equations associated with this model.
-The candidate will work at IRMAR, on the Beaulieu Campus. He/she will be provided with an office and the tools (computers in particular) needed to carry out his/her work.
Numerical simulations, scientific computing, finite element method, structural dynamics.
