Offer Description

This thesis focuses on developing new synthetic methods aimed at creating molecular complexity and diversity from raw materials such as alcohols, alkenes, or alkynes. Our team has been working to push the boundaries of cationic chemistry by combining Lewis or Brønsted acids with hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) as a solvent. HFIP facilitates numerous organic reactions by stabilizing carbocations, serving as an excellent hydrogen bond donor, and exhibiting low nucleophilic and redox activity. The candidate (H/F) will develop new transformations using a sustainable chemistry approach.
