The recruited researcher from CNRS will develop and apply CSP (crystal structure prediction) methodologies for designing materials for space propulsion, using generative prediction, AI, and quantum chemical methods. Responsibilities include exploring phase diagrams, predicting properties, writing reports and publications, interacting with CNES managers, participating in group coordination, and supervising trainees. The work involves exploiting AI databases, predicting materials with multi-objective criteria, performing electronic structure calculations, and presenting results at conferences and in publications. The researcher will install and monitor computational codes, collaborate with research groups, and supervise students.
The position is based at IC2MP, Poitiers, within the 'Chimie Quantique Appliquée' group, under supervision of the project manager, with specific agreements with CNES and CNRS. The candidate should have a PhD in theoretical chemistry, materials physics, or related fields, with experience in generative algorithms, DFT for periodic systems, MLIP approaches, and proficiency in Python and Unix systems. Co-authorship of scientific articles and proficiency in English are required.
