Offer Description

In this study, the PhD student will use organic molecules and metal oxide precursors to prepare porous hybrid monoliths. Several hybrid materials are envisaged: mixed oxides, phosphonates and bi-phosphonates. The subject lies at the interface between organic chemistry, materials chemistry and environmental applications. Monoliths will be characterized in Montpellier by nitrogen physisorption (specific surface area, porosity), UV-visible spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, DRX and solid state NMR. Impregnation with molecules or metals will follow. Applications in pollution control and catalysis will be studied mainly by external partners.
