This position is at the interface between CNRS Ecology and Environment and CNRS Engineering, focusing on the management and valorization of natural resources in Corse and the Mediterranean, as well as modeling the dynamics of complex natural systems. The aim is to address biodiversity challenges by understanding ecosystem resilience to preserve ecological balance and sustainability.
The selected candidate will collaborate with the Stella Mare and SPE laboratories, co-tutored with the University of Corse, to strengthen research in coastal and marine ecosystems. Stella Mare focuses on marine biodiversity, sustainable aquaculture, and ecological modeling, while SPE emphasizes natural resource management and ecological understanding for territorial development.
The role includes developing methods for ecological restoration to rehabilitate Mediterranean coastal and marine ecosystems, their biodiversity, and natural resources. The research will analyze the impact of reintroducing local marine species on ecosystem dynamics, resistance, and resilience to climate change and human pressures, potentially involving field monitoring, experiments, and modeling.
The candidate will also teach approximately 48 hours per year related to these themes, including lectures, applied courses, and research training, in coordination with the University of Corse.
CNRS promotes open science, aiming for accessible research outputs via repositories like HAL and encouraging data sharing, while evaluating researchers qualitatively in line with DORA principles. Dissemination of results will include publications, patents, software, and outreach activities such as conferences, media, and public engagement, including participatory science initiatives.
Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent, with no restrictions on age or nationality. CNRS values inclusivity and accessibility for people with disabilities.
