About The Job
Salary: £29,093 - £31,586 a year
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Permanent
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operations. You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the post room, making sure incoming and outgoing mail is handled quickly, securely, and accurately. From sorting and distributing post to processing special deliveries like recorded and registered mail, your attention to detail will keep everything running smoothly. You’ll also be responsible for managing stock levels, using the franking machine or pre-printed envelopes, and keeping everything organised behind the scenes.
You’ll be supporting a range of admin and financial tasks—checking delivery notes, updating timesheets, processing internal recharges, and making sure monthly and annual reports are accurate and useful. You’ll work across different teams and systems, using your knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and hybrid mail to stay on top of everything. You’ll also take on a supervisory role, helping lead a small team, managing workloads, and ensuring high standards are met every day.
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About You
You’re experienced, reliable, and confident in your ability to manage both people and processes. You’ve worked in a post room before and know how to prioritise tasks in a busy environment. You understand the importance of getting things right first time—whether it’s calculating postage, interpreting data, or responding to enquiries. You’ve got a good head for numbers, a strong eye for detail, and a calm, methodical approach to your work.
You’re someone who takes initiative while respecting procedures. You can influence and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, and you know how to balance competing deadlines without compromising on quality. You’ve supervised staff, managed schedules, and dealt with enquiries both internally and externally. On top of that, you care about doing things properly—whether it’s ensuring compliance with GDPR, recognising and addressing discrimination, or maintaining professionalism in everything you do.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
