Your role as a Japan Hiring Manager

As part of our growth strategy to become a leading inbound travel company for the western markets, we are seeking a dedicated individual to join Japan Experience in Tokyo as our Japan Hiring Manager.

Under the Product Director, your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Meeting with management and executive staff to determine what qualities they need from any potential new hire.
  2. Writing a job description for the listing to highlight important job responsibilities and required skills for an applicant to excel in the position. Post the offer on relevant hiring websites.
  3. Overseeing any staff assisting in the hiring process and ensuring all staff members understand their role.
  4. Examining resumes and identifying prospects for the interview phase of the hiring process.
  5. Conducting interviews with prospective employees either individually or as the leader of an interview committee.
  6. Deciding on the best applicant for the position and confirming the hire or presenting the suggested hire to executives for confirmation.
  7. Drafting a job offer for the selected applicant and negotiating terms of employment.
  8. Onboarding and providing orientation for new employees.
  9. Post and follow-up on our LinkedIn account in 5 languages.

Who you are & What we offer

Master’s degree minimum.

Minimum language requirements:

English: Business level.

Japanese: Business level, N2 minimum level required.

Eligible to work in Japan.

Experience working in a hiring position.

Experience working in Japan’s travel industry appreciated.

Good knowledge of Japan as a destination – geographical and cultural.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage own workloads.

Able to work with minimal supervision.

Communication: ability to communicate well with others both verbally and in writing.

Judgment: performing accurate assessments of potential job candidates so you can choose the one who best fits the needs of the position.

Time management: time management is key to completing the process efficiently and on schedule.

Onboarding: ability to bring new employees up to speed into the teams.

Teamwork: open and effective communication between the team members to assess candidates and find the best applicants.

Negotiation: leads the contract negotiation that benefits both the company and the applicant.

Benefits:

Salary: between 450,000 and 500,000 yens (annual), depending on experience.

100% reimbursement of annual and monthly TEIKI up to 15,000JPY/month.

Social security benefits: you will be covered by the company during your employment.

Yearly bonus depending on performance and target achievement.

International team environment: we have offices in London, Paris, Madrid, Tokyo, and Milan.

Remote work possible 2 days a week.

Up to 20 days annual leave (within 4 years seniority).
