Summary

Etex R&D organization is leading the Innovation for Etex group by innovating in products, systems, services and technologies to offer a solution portfolio in adequation with market needs. ETEX R&D is organized upon technologies within several Innovation and Technology Centers (ITCs). The position belongs to Gypsum Applied Research department located at ITC, Avignon.

Gypsum Applied Research team is focusing on material science, formulation development for plasterboards and Compounds and Plasters products along with analytical capabilities. In this context, the position aims to:

  • Lead and/or proactively participate in projects of plasterboard new product developments in relation to stakeholders (e.g. Marketing teams, ITCs experts, Purchasing…)
  • Provide technical support in the countries in relation with Marketing teams, Operations, Purchasing or Development Teams.
  • Coordinate relationship with universities in the frame of her/his perimeter.

The ability to reach out and collaborate with all stakeholders within an international environment will be key to succeed in this position.

What you'll do
  • Lead assigned projects (Local or Global) in the department related to plasterboard products for the different product ranges through formulation development, characterization in collaboration with different functions (Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, different Innovation Technical Centers or potential external partners).
  • Be proactive in the research and development of new solutions in his field of expertise and in accordance with the ETEX Group strategic pillars.
  • Lead and coordinate plasterboard raw material validation focusing on more sustainable solutions.
  • Provide Technical Assistance to international Etex companies and/or departments, based on her/his expertise, competencies in support to Operations, Marketing and/or Purchasing based on existing capability or by developing additional methods in relation with standards or duplicate application situations.
  • Develop technical expertise within the teams: as an expert in material science and formulation, the person holding this position will be naturally integrated into project teams. She/He will put her/his expertise to serve the project by being a proactive teammate, by leading dedicated tasks, and by proposing/developing additional competencies that would help the project to deliver its objectives.
  • Project management: Develop the project plan (structure deliverables, required resources and planning) required to reach the project objective integrating EHS and sustainability constraints.
  • Drive the project team liaising and working with team members locally but also with other ITCs, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply chain, IP to ensure the success of the project.
  • Knowledge consolidation: Data analysis & consolidation in technical reports (testing but also synthesis reports)/ Synthesis presentations.
  • Interaction with universities in the frame of PhD.
Profile
  • Technical MS, Engineer or PhD degree (PhD appreciated) in Material Science or Chemistry.
  • Technical Knowledge of Building material or their components appreciated.
  • Soft skills: Committed with safety and sustainability.
  • Organized & Autonomous.
  • Innovative and open mindset, willingness to learn and to train.
  • Comfortable in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Team player.
