Volta Medical is an innovative, data-inspired startup based in the US and Europe, focused on developing cutting-edge AI software products to revolutionize interventional cardiac electrophysiology.

We have built a data collection and enrichment ecosystem for curated EP lab data, which feeds into a physician-validated machine learning methodology to support complex AF solutions. Our latest technology, Volta AF-Xplorer, is a data-driven AI decision support system that integrates seamlessly into standard physician workflows, offering a patient-tailored approach to complex AF and AT procedures.

Our dynamic and innovative team comprises 140 collaborators across the EU and USA from diverse backgrounds including engineers, business professionals, and physicians, all working together to develop AI solutions that assist electrophysiologists in helping patients.

Missions

We are seeking an experienced individual to serve as our IT Director. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Define and develop the IT strategy aligned with company goals and create an IT roadmap supporting business objectives.
  2. Plan and manage the IT budget, allocate resources, and control expenditures.
  3. Oversee maintenance and optimization of IT infrastructure to ensure robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
  4. Ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems and networks through monitoring and security measures.
  5. Establish and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data, including conducting audits.
  6. Manage IT risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  7. Supervise the development and deployment of internal and external applications, overseeing the software development lifecycle.
  8. Ensure regular maintenance and updates of applications, addressing issues promptly.
  9. Recruit, train, and mentor the IT team, fostering professional growth.
  10. Implement technical support systems for internal users, ensuring quick resolution of issues.
  11. Identify and evaluate new technologies to benefit the company, staying updated on industry trends.
  12. Lead innovation projects to enhance processes and products.
  13. Plan, organize, and oversee IT projects, managing scope, timelines, and budgets.
  14. Ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets, monitoring progress and reporting to stakeholders.
  15. Collaborate with R&D, QARA, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and other teams to align IT initiatives with business needs.
  16. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams, translating concepts clearly.
  17. Negotiate and manage relationships with IT service providers and vendors.
  18. Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems and processes.
  19. Provide regular reports on IT system status and project progress to management.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL).
  • 10 to 15 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in medical devices or regulated industries is preferred.
  • Background in startups or rapidly growing companies.
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases).
  • Strong skills in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Experience in project planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strategic IT planning aligned with business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
