Role Purpose :
The Intraday Commercial Lead will assist the intraday trading manager in leading and supervising commercial and trading activities across Intraday (ID) and Day-Ahead (BODA), ensuring professionalism, ethics, and operational excellence. The role includes strategic oversight, operational management, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Main Responsibilities :
General :
- Ensure best commercial practices, professionalism, ethical behaviour, and integrity.
- Meet commercial optimization needs and strategic objectives related to Intraday (ID) and Day-Ahead (BODA) activities.
- Guarantee compliance with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and business controls.
- Suggest and manage evolution and improvements of commercial mandates, strategies, and operational practices for Intraday management.
- Manage the implementation of Intraday and BODA trading activity support developed by the intraday team, maintaining high automation levels.
- Provide operational validation and team sign-off when required.
- Collaborate with the Algo / technical lead to achieve common objectives.
- Ensure comprehensive daily and weekly reporting of intraday activities to management.
Operational Management (Intraday) :
- Foster relationships with internal and external counterparties.
- Organize rosters and staffing for business continuity and development.
- Ensure all commercial strategies are justified, documented, and compliant with standards and risk policies.
- Oversee smooth operation of all Intraday commercial activities.
- Ensure timely access to trading platforms and systems.
- Monitor Intraday positions, aligning with risk management frameworks and supporting shifts as needed.
- Monitor team adherence to safety and security during shifts.
- Optimize interaction and effective use of Market Analysts during operational shifts.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of P&L reporting for ID activities.
- Guarantee daily and weekly reporting of Intraday trading activities to management.
Operational Management Day-Ahead (BODA Activity) :
- Manage and organize Day-Ahead activities, including staffing, training, and readiness.
- Develop strategies for cross-border capacity bidding.
- Implement KPIs to monitor DA activities effectively.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of P&L reporting for DA activities.
- Guarantee daily and weekly reporting of Day-Ahead activities to management.
Controls and Reporting :
- Maintain relationships with internal teams to manage contracts, settlements, and transactional issues.
- Lead monthly meetings with Middle Office to resolve discrepancies and manage risks.
- Ensure continuous risk reporting to minimize exposure.
- Oversee accurate P&L reporting, validating results against expectations.
- Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance.
- Ensure clear and timely communication of key events to management.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related fields.
- 5–7 years of experience in commercial operations, trading, or energy markets.
- Proven managerial skills with team leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of energy markets, trading, compliance, risk, and regulation.
- Proficiency in English; French or other languages are advantageous.
