AXA Group Headquarters (GIE AXA) is seeking a Liability Modelling intern to join the Group Risk Management P&C team. You will model liability catastrophe risks, interact with multiple entities, and develop a Shiny app for model results analysis.

The role requires strong actuarial foundations, advanced statistics, and proficiency in R/Python, with an emphasis on teamwork and clear communication in English.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Mathematics or Statistics or a related field with strong quantitative focus.
• Solid knowledge in probability, statistics and risk theory; actuarial science background preferred.
• Strong analytical and programming skills; proficiency in R and Python required.

Responsabilités

• Model Reinsurance impact on the Liability CAT MM Model.

You will join the Group Risk Management P&C, which ensures that P&C risks are appropriately measured, modelled, and monitored. GRM P&C’s main areas of expertise are Cat Modelling, Economic Capital, Reserving risk appetite, and Underwriting risk.

Within Group Risk Management P&C, you will join the Cat Man-made & Business risks team as a Liability modelling intern.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do

Liability Catastrophe events in Insurance represent a major, complex, and continuously evolving risk, characterized by low frequency but very high severity. These events can vary greatly in nature and affect policyholders across multiple sectors and regions simultaneously. In this context The Liability Risk Modelling intern will be expected to:

• Model Reinsurance impact on the Liability CAT MM Model to refine model change or adjustment impact
• Interact with different group entities regarding information collected through the data collection platform
• Identify new parameters for modelling and refinement of the model calibration
• Conduct ad hoc studies on the model.
• Develop a Shiny App for model results analysis

YOUR PROFILE

Who You Are

• An actuary, Master’s in Mathematics or Statistics, Engineer, Quant
• Expert in probability, statistics, risk theory, actuarial science with very strong analytical/quantitative skills
• Robust Data and programming skills (in particular R/python).
• Able to communicate in a clear and concise way with a professional level in English
• Ability to work in a team, good interpersonal skills, flexibility/adaptability
