Job summary

Air Liquide's Europe Procurement team is accelerating its AI transformation. As an in-house data science intern, you will bridge business needs with digital solutions, deploying AI and data tools for strategic decisions within a global group.

You will work on data architecture, governance, and adoption, collaborating with stakeholders, and gaining hands-on experience with Python, SQL, App Script, and Workspace AI tools, while communicating to non-experts in an international setting.

Qualifications

• Interest in AI technologies (Generative AI, Prompt Engineering) and data manipulation with Python/SQL.
• Curiosity to experiment and deploy custom-made solutions using Apps Script and APIs.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical requirements and designs.
• Excellent communication to lead workshops and explain concepts to non-experts.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI) and Google Workspace/Gemini is a plus.

Responsibilities

• AI Solution Deployment: identify opportunities, build and deploy AI solutions for procurement cases.
• BI & Analysis: act as a bridge between stakeholders and technical possibilities, build end-to-end data solutions.
• Data Architecture & Flow Design: formalize procurement data architecture and document data flows.
• Data Governance & Collection: support data governance and automate data collection to ensure consistency.
• Adoption: lead data maintenance workshops and drive tool adoption across procurement teams.

Job description

The Europe Procurement organization is accelerating its digital and AI transformation to optimize operations and drive strategic decision-making. As part of the Digital Tools and Data Intelligence team, you will help leverage data as a key strategic driver. Our team shapes the digital roadmap, ensures robust data governance, and deploys scalable AI solutions across the Group. In this role, you will act as an in-house data science specialist, bridging the gap between business needs and high-impact digital solutions.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

• AI Solution Deployment: Identify opportunities, build and deploy solutions using available Workspace AI tools (Generative AI, LLMs, and low-code AI platforms) to solve concrete procurement business cases.
• Business Intelligence & Analysis: Act as a bridge between procurement business stakeholders and technical possibilities by analyzing requirements, proposing proof-of-concepts, and building end-to-end data solutions.
• Data Architecture & Flow Design: Create and formalize the architecture surrounding procurement data, ensuring robust documentation of data flows from collection to visualization. Continuous improvement into the Knowledge base architecture and maintenance.
• Data Governance & Collection: Support the team in maintaining high standards of data governance, assisting in the automation of data collection processes and ensuring data consistency across systems.
• Animation & Adoption: Lead data maintenance workshops and drive tool adoption initiatives to ensure that digital solutions are effectively integrated into the daily routines of the procurement community.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong interest in AI technologies (Generative AI, Prompt Engineering) and familiarity with data manipulation tools (Python, SQL). You have a genuine curiosity to experiment and deploy custom-made solutions using App Script and APIs.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex business problems into technical requirements and architectural designs.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to lead workshops and explain technical concepts to non-expert audiences (pedagogy and change management).
• Tools: Knowledge of Data Visualization tools (Power BI) and Google Workspace/ Gemini (Gems, Notebook LM, Workspace Studio) environment is a plus.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required (working in an international environment); French is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Autonomy, curiosity for the procurement business, and a proactive "can-do" attitude.

The internship will take place in the Group's historical headquarters in the center of Paris at Quai d'Orsay.
