CMA CGM Group offers an internship in the Group Decarbonization & Project Coordination team in Marseille. You will help develop, monitor and optimize decarbonization pathways across the Group’s activities, while supporting operational teams in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Ideal candidates are Master’s students in engineering or business with knowledge of carbon accounting, strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Engineering, Business or related field.
• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken.
• Solid understanding of carbon accounting methodologies and environmental challenges.
• Strong analytical abilities and clear presentation of findings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsabilités

• Decarbonization Pathways: update pathways across Group activities, interview CSR and ops teams, build Excel models, review assumptions and results.
• Carbon Footprint Assessment: improve emissions reporting, update emission factors, document processes.
• Cross-Functional Projects: monitor regulatory changes, support cross-business decarbonization task forces, contribute to carbon accounting standards, develop digital tools to boost productivity.

YOUR ROLE

You will join the Group Decarb team, responsible for driving CMA CGM Group's decarbonization strategy. Working closely with the operational decarbonization teams across the Group's business activities, including shipping, logistics and terminal operations, the team ensures the implementation of a consistent decarbonization pathway aligned with the Group's Net Zero 2050 ambition.

You will play a key role in developing, monitoring and optimizing decarbonization pathways across the Group's business activities, continuously improving the Group's carbon footprint assessment, and supporting operational teams in their transition to a low-carbon economy.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

• Decarbonization Pathways
  • Contribute to updating decarbonization pathways across the Group's business activities, covering both CO2e emissions and financial data. This includes conducting interviews with CSR and operational teams, performing desk research, developing Excel models, and reviewing the consistency of assumptions and results across business activities
  • Support business units in adopting and using the Group-wide decarbonization pathway modeling tool
  • Assist business units in defining and monitoring their five-year decarbonization budgets, including reviewing planned initiatives, assessing their CO2e and financial impacts, prioritizing actions and conducting semi-annual budget implementation reviews
  • Contribute to strategic analysis and research on financing the Group's decarbonization pathway
• Carbon Footprint Assessment
  • Contribute to continuously improving the reliability of the Group's carbon footprint assessment by ensuring comprehensive emissions reporting, updating and refining emission factors, and documenting existing and target processes
• Cross-Functional Projects
  • Monitor developments that may impact the Group's decarbonization pathways, including regulatory changes and low-carbon energy prices across different regions
  • Support the preparation and coordination of cross-business decarbonization task forces, providing expertise on shared challenges such as low-carbon electricity procurement
  • Monitor developments in carbon accounting standards, including SBTi and the GHG Protocol, and contribute to related public consultations
  • Develop digital tools to improve productivity, particularly through the automation of monitoring and research activities

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

• You are currently pursuing a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Engineering, Business or a related field, with a specialization in environmental or sustainability issues. You are looking for a second gap-year internship or a final-year internship
• You have a solid understanding of carbon accounting methodologies and related environmental challenges
• You demonstrate strong analytical abilities and can clearly present and communicate your findings
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced formulas and functions) and PowerPoint
• You have strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
• Knowledge of financial analysis is a plus
• You are fluent in both French and English, written and spoken
• You are a rigorous, autonomous and adaptable team player, with strong collaboration skills
