About the OECD

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) brings together countries to develop better policies for better lives. Its Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD) supports the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) in increasing financing for development and improving the quality and effectiveness of development co-operation.

The internship will be based in the Reform and Partnerships for Development Impact (RPDI) Division, within the Evaluation Team. The intern will contribute to cross-cutting work on impact, evidence, data-driven decision-making and the use of artificial intelligence to connect evidence with policymaking.

The Opportunity

The OECD is seeking an intern to support the implementation of the OECD DAC Network on Development Evaluation work programme, with a particular focus on AI for decision-making, evidence use, and evaluation in contexts of conflict and fragility.

The successful candidate will contribute to work involving the Development Evaluation Resource Centre (DEReC), including its database and AI-enabled features, as well as broader mapping of evidence repositories and AI-and-evidence initiatives.

The role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience at the intersection of development evaluation, international development, artificial intelligence, data and public policy within a multicultural international organisation.

What You’ll Do

Development Evaluation Resource Centre

Maintain and expand the DEReC database by identifying and screening new evaluation resources, preparing records for publication and flagging quality issues for further review.

AI and Evidence

Test the DEReC AI prototype against defined user scenarios and prepare a short findings note containing recommendations for different user groups.

Support the DEReC 3.0 rollout through user testing, documentation and systematic tracking of feedback on new AI-enabled features.

Evidence Mapping

Map evidence repositories used across the Development Co-operation Directorate and by members of the DAC Network on Development Evaluation.

Contribute to a short analysis of potential interoperability options between evidence repositories.

AI Initiatives

Maintain a mapping of relevant AI and evidence initiatives, including ESIC, to support OECD engagement and knowledge-sharing activities.

Research and Analysis

Contribute to agreed analytical outputs, which may include literature reviews, qualitative or quantitative data analysis, and drafting sections of technical notes.

Additional Support

Undertake ad hoc tasks related to the work of the RPDI Division and relevant to the intern’s area of expertise.

Internship Requirements and Compensation

The candidate must remain enrolled in a full-time degree programme for the entire duration of the internship.

Internships are primarily open to nationals of OECD member countries. A memorandum of agreement must also be signed between the OECD and the candidate's university.

The internship will run for three months from October to December 2026, with the possibility of an extension.

The OECD provides interns with a EUR 1,000 contribution to living expenses for each full month worked.
