Job summary

Constellium seeks an engineering student for a PhD internship at the Centre des Matériaux, Mines Paris - PSL in Versailles, focusing on modeling damage nucleation and growth in recycled aluminium alloys. • Engineering background with strong mechanics and numerical modeling.
• Experience or interest in data post-processing and simulations.
• Motivation for computational work and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Literature review on failure mechanisms and modeling strategies.
• Post-treatment of nano-tomography data to extract input for the model.
• Build initial representative volume element (RVE) for multi-phase alloys.
• Test and validate the model against experimental observations.
• Implement model enhancements and compare with results.
• Synthesize outcomes and report to team, with transfer to industrial R&D.
