Murex is seeking a final-year student for an internship to join the Software Engineers team developing the MX.3 platform. You will contribute to a concrete technical project in C++, focusing on core components, observability, and compiler-related topics.

You will gain hands-on experience with architecture and development of a large-scale financial software platform, collaborating with engineers and product experts in an international environment. Paris location, 6 months, internship.

Team & Context:

At Murex, Software Engineers design, develop and maintain the technologies that power the MX.3 platform, used by financial institutions worldwide.

Our C++ engineers work on technical components at the core of the platform. Their projects cover areas such as low-level development, programming languages, distributed systems, performance, observability, software reliability and developer tooling.

Joining this internship means becoming part of a community of experienced engineers working on challenging software development topics. You will contribute to a concrete technical project while gaining hands‑on experience with the architecture and development of a large‑scale financial software platform.

Your missions / What you'll do?

Following an onboarding program covering software engineering practices and the MX.3 platform, you will contribute to a project with direct technical impact. Depending on your assignment, you may:

• Design, develop and test software components in C+;
• Analyze existing code, execution flows and technical architectures;
• Improve the robustness, readability, performance and maintainability of existing solutions;
• Contribute to low-level development and algorithmic topics;
• Enhance monitoring, diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities;
• Work on programming language features, compilers or static analysis mechanisms;
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects and product experts;
• Document your approach and present your findings and solutions to technical stakeholders.

A glimpse of the topics you could work on:

Our interns contribute to a variety of technical initiatives across the Software Engineering perimeter.

The topics you could work on include:

• The evolution of observability capabilities within the MX.3 platform, including the implementation of consistent metrics, logs and traces;
• The adoption of modern instrumentation standards such as OpenTelemetry ;
• The propagation of contextual information across execution flows;
• The development and evolution of proprietary programming languages used within MX.3;
• The implementation of new language features, including stronger static typing mechanisms;
• Semantic analysis and compiler improvements designed to detect inconsistencies before execution;
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and diagnostic tools supporting platform reliability;
• Improvements to software quality, maintainability and developer experience.

Your profile / Who you are ?

• Final-year student from an Engineering School or equivalent Master's degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering or a related field;
• Good programming skills in C++ and a strong interest in complex software systems;
• Interested in low-level development, algorithms and challenging technical topics;
• Curious, analytical and eager to understand how software components interact;
• Strong problem‑solving skills;
• Team‑oriented, with a proactive and autonomous mindset;
• Good communication and documentation skills;
• Fluency in English is required .
