Qualifications

Who we are?

UTMB Group is the global leader in organizing trail running events. Its flagship race, the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc, has been the international reference for trail running for many years.

Based in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps, UTMB Group launched the UTMB World Series circuit in partnership with The IRONMAN Group in 2022. It is now the largest trail running circuit in the world, gathering over 50 events to bring the UTMB adventure closer to runners worldwide.

What we are looking for?

As part of the UTMB Group Marketing and Communication team, and reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communication & Media, the International Communication & Marketing Manager - EMEA will actively contribute to the creation, adaptation, and delivery of marketing & communication tools for the UTMB World Series circuit, especially for franchised and licensed events in the EMEA zone (and occasionally beyond).

This is a position in a fast-paced, international, and dynamic environment.

Your main mission and key responsibilities

As International Communication & Marketing Manager - EMEA, your responsibilities will be diverse and strategic.

The success of UTMB World Series events relies in part on the development and implementation of structured marketing and communication plans that both align with global guidelines and take local specificities into account. As a marketing and communication generalist with in-depth knowledge of the UTMB World Series organization and its guidelines, you are the most qualified person to support events in achieving their objectives and delivering the best possible experience for runners.

Strategic coordination and support for UTMB International Department
  • Provide strategic support to UTMB International Department, especially to work on franchised and licensed events projects (consulting, P&L follow-up, activation planning, RACI, etc.)
  • Act as a liaison between UTMB International Department and UTMB Group’s Global Marcomm leaders: Communication & PR, Brand & Content, Marketing & Registration
Operational support for franchised and licensed EMEA events
  • Oversee Marcomm onboarding for new franchised and licensed events
  • Follow up on the implementation of marketing and communication plans
  • Support local teams with client services, best practice sharing, and performance reporting
Collaboration with Global & Regional Marcomm leaders
  • Help define coordination processes with other regions: LATAM, North America, Oceania, Asia.
  • Serve as a conduit between UTMB International Department and Global Marcomm teams to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing

Profile & Skills
Experience & Background
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communication, ideally in an international context within the event, sports, or outdoor industry
  • Experience working in multi-country and multi-project environments
  • Background in partner management, network coordination, or brand deployment
Key Skills
  • Proven ability to lead and adapt Marcomm strategies across different markets
  • Comfortable using planning, reporting, and coordination tools
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in a structured but evolving environment
  • Solid understanding of brand strategy, field activation, and marketing plan
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to craft clear and impactful messaging
Personal Qualities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Diplomatic mindset, cross-cultural agility, and strong synthesis abilities
  • Proactive, autonomous, and team-oriented
Required Languages
  • French: strong command required
  • English: fluent, mandatory (daily working language)

Recruitment Process

  • Interview with Morgane (HR Manager) via video call (45 minutes): get to know the company and ensure mutual fit
  • Interview with Antoine (Director of Marketing, Communication & Medias) on-site or video – 1 hour): assess both your technical and interpersonal fit, and present the Marcomm BU’s current challenges to help you project yourself in the role
  • Interview with Lucie (International Project Manager) (on-site or video – 45 minutes): explore your ability to evolve in an international, project-driven environment, and discuss your understanding of franchise/licensing challenges
