Rakuten Tech in Europe, a part of the Rakuten Group's Global Innovation Hub, serves as the regional hub for the European-based members of the Technology Division. We provide and optimize global platforms to support businesses within the Rakuten Ecosystem, tailoring them to specific use cases in Europe and beyond.

We are looking for a Product Owner Intern to join the Rakuten Recommendation and Personalization team. You will join an international and cross-border team (Japan / Europe) providing recommendation and personalization for Rakuten Group services, and working on cutting-edge technologies in order to improve and personalize customers experience. In this position, you will interact with an international team of engineers and data scientists to provide the highest service quality to all our clients, and work with cross-functional teams within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• As a Product owner, you’ll work for the recommendations team; your main responsibilities will include:
• Managing the Product Backlog maintaining a correct WIP task
• Collaboration with Technical Teams
• Oversee the creation of technical and functional documentation for the API
• Monitor API performance (Data Analysis and Optimization)
• Organise sessions, planning meetings, and demos to validate delivered functionalities

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis tools or techniques
• Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
