The Design Intern will be responsible for the design and execution of the product line, including updates, refabrications, or refreshes as required by the business. This role involves integrating consumer insights, warranty feedback, and brand vision into the core product line. The intern will work closely with the entire design team to support the Atelier, demonstrating exceptional project and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail to ensure premium product execution that aligns with Canada Goose’s performance luxury positioning.

Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  1. Manage the Carryover assortment, including refreshes in colour and print, style updates, refabrications, and core resets as directed by the Design Director.
  2. Oversee the end-to-end colour process from research and palette development to colour execution, logic, keys, and labdip requests.
  3. Collaborate with design directors to establish seasonal colour palettes.
  4. Review and comment on strike-offs for print execution, working with senior graphic designers and external consultants as needed.
  5. Ensure premium execution of the core product line through seasonal colour and print updates.
  6. Coordinate and manage all design colour tools.
  7. Work with the design team and cross-functional partners to observe and manage seasonal and project calendars.
  8. Research and design styles from concept to proto approval, as directed by Design Leadership.
  9. Execute special projects with support from the Design Manager and team.
  10. Coordinate with Merchandising to ensure designs support business objectives.
  11. Maintain and update style data in PLM as required.
  12. Communicate designs, BOMs, and updates with PDE partners throughout the proto process.
  13. Support the Design Team in fittings and represent the design voice in fittings for designated styles.
  14. Collaborate with Raw Materials team on colour development as needed.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Fashion Design.
  • Must have a 'convention de stage'.
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Proactive with the ability to achieve departmental and corporate goals.
  • Basic knowledge of patternmaking and product construction.
  • Understanding of fabrics and trims.
  • Strong presentation skills for designs and concepts.
  • CAD skills for garment construction and presentations.
  • Experience with Product Line Management (PLM) is a plus.
  • Organized and skilled in time management.
  • Knowledge of line merchandising.
  • Capable of independent research.
  • Market-aware with a critical eye on trends and runway shows.
  • Innovative and exploratory in the design process.
  • Creative with the ability to exceed market expectations.
  • Team player with professionalism and discretion.
