Description

Hitachi Rail Systems France is strengthening its teams and recruiting a Confirmed Systems Engineer (H/F) on a permanent contract for its site in Les Ulis (91).

About us:

Hitachi Rail is a global provider of integrated rail transport solutions. We develop innovative and sustainable solutions in rolling stock, signaling, operation, service, maintenance, digital technology, and turnkey systems.

We are present in 51 countries and employ 24,000 people worldwide.

In France, Hitachi Rail has been present for over a century and currently employs more than 800 people across three sites:

  • Les Ulis (Île-de-France): support functions, engineering, development, and project management for metro projects;
  • Vélizy-Le-Bois (Île-de-France): support functions, engineering, development, and project management for mainline projects;
  • Brétigny-sur-Orge (Île-de-France): support functions, engineering, development, and management of contactless technologies and related services (ticketing, fleet management).

Joining the France team of Hitachi Rail - Les Ulis means integrating the global CBTC development center for the Group. Many driverless CBTC projects are underway in France and worldwide, including in Europe (Copenhagen, Milan, Thessaloniki, Brussels, Glasgow), South America (Lima, Panama), and North America (San Francisco, Toronto). We also develop cutting-edge signaling technologies based on radio communication (CBTC).

At Hitachi Rail, you will contribute to building a more sustainable and connected world. Involved in international projects and working within multicultural teams, your work will be at the forefront of digital transformation and technological innovation.

The position we offer:

Reporting to the CBTC engineering department (around 20 people), you will be responsible for all system specification work on a given project and ensuring the coherence of the entire signaling system. You may also serve as the team’s reference.

  • You will design the specific onboard and track application for the project.
  • You will provide various studies, including interface specifications, equipment installation plans, zone division, and parameter specifications.
  • These studies should meet the project specifications, optimize system performance, and respect the constraints of the generic product.
  • You will help monitor budget progress with the project engineer, detect deviations from product references, and manage scope changes.
  • Your experience enables you to estimate evolutions of your technical lot and contribute to bids.
  • The role may involve occasional travel, such as workshops with rolling stock suppliers or clients.
Your profile:

With a Bac+5 degree, generalist engineer or equivalent, you have at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment. Additionally, you:

  • Possess essential technical knowledge to coordinate activities internationally with other project managers (sub-systems, development, FDMS, testing)
  • Can interface directly with clients during design meetings and as needed
  • Are organized and capable of tracking ongoing issues and their resolution with various stakeholders (client, rolling stock, triggering systems)
  • Have good knowledge of signaling systems in the metro context, including technical solutions (ground and onboard) and SIL4 delivery constraints
  • Master the MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of DOORS is a plus
  • Have fluent technical French and English skills for an international and multicultural environment

Even if you lack some criteria, we encourage you to apply! We value all interesting profiles, even if slightly outside the typical framework.

Work modalities:
  • Full-time
  • Partial telecommuting (up to 2 days)
  • International travel expected
Location:
  • At Parc d’activités de Courtabœuf
  • Easy access by car via A10/A11 and N118; bus n°22 from Massy Palaiseau RER station (RER B and C)
Why join us?
  • Contribute to the development of a future sector and participate in more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions;
  • Work in a responsible, human-sized, multicultural company committed to environmental preservation (aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 100% by 2030 and further by 2050), diversity, equal opportunities, and employment of people with disabilities;
  • Join a caring, balanced work environment that promotes work-life balance;
  • Benefit from partial telework policy, training programs, and career development support.
Other benefits:
  • Partial coverage of Navigo card
  • Participation and profit-sharing
  • 1% housing scheme
  • Inter-company restaurant (RIE)
