Join our team at the Product company in Valence, where we work with over 150 employees to develop and produce vacuum pumps. We are looking for a Logistics Methods Engineer for our site in Bourg-lès-Valence.
The Logistics Methods Engineer is responsible for designing, improving, and optimizing the overall logistics chain. They are tasked with imagining the optimal path that the company's products must follow "from suppliers to customers", designing, establishing, and optimizing it in the long term.
As a logistics expert, they act as a true project manager in the logistics area. In the context of implementing a new logistics process, the methods engineer first ensures the preliminary steps for the new implementation. They conduct an analysis of available means, incurred costs, necessary resources, and build an action plan.
Your main missions are:
Definition of packaging:
Design packaging solutions suitable for finished/semi-finished products and components to ensure product quality, safety, efficiency on the line, and optimization of transport, from the first milestone of the product project and in case of modification (product or supplier).
Write packaging specifications for finished/semi-finished products and components in accordance with the requirements at the line usage point.
Lead continuous improvement projects for packaging:
Formalize, maintain, and disseminate to the actors in Purchasing / BE / Methods / Supply / Production the standards related to packaging (recommendations, choice matrix, operating procedures…).
Flow analysis:
Collect and analyze data related to current physical flows and information related to components and finished/semi-finished products to optimize storage areas and configurations (e.g., VSM).
Coordinate, in collaboration with Supply Chain and Stock managers, the necessary projects for optimizing the company's incoming and outgoing flows.
Optimize internal or external logistics circuits (returnable loop, transport circuit…).
Skills:
Graduated from a logistics training program such as Engineering / Master or Bachelor's degree with confirmed experience in the logistics field ideally gained in an industrial environment with experience in production.
10 years of experience in similar sectors with proven results in supply chain transformation.
In-depth knowledge of IT tools (SAP, WMS).
Strong skills in project management and analysis of logistics processes.
Application of work organization methods (use of Lean tools, Kaizen, time measurement), and problem-solving methods (5 whys, etc.).
Proficiency in office and communication software (Office Suite).
English Level B1 minimum (Written, Spoken).
