Job Description:

Vanatome, a subsidiary of Framatome and TechnicAtome, located in Saint-Vallier in the Drôme, is an industrial company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and qualification of valves and fittings for nuclear, defense, and energy sectors.

Vanatome is seeking to expand its team with a full-time Design Engineer (H/F) at the Saint Vallier site (26). The company handles design, manufacturing, sales, after-sales service, and maintenance in the following fields: energy, military nuclear, and civil nuclear (valve manufacturing).

Your responsibilities include creating, based on internal/external specifications, functional specifications, and documentation standards (norms and procedures, tools), the design of structural assemblies and systems that meet project requirements, whether in development or series follow-up; formalizing these in the form of definition dossiers (drawings, CAD models, weight, etc.).

You will identify, implement, critique, and validate input data (specifications, pre-studies, interfaces...), conduct structural studies (primary/secondary structures, metallic or composite materials), and develop and validate definition files (CAD models, mass calculations, drawings, bill of materials, interfaces, tolerancing plans) in compliance with project technical requirements, quality, cost, deadlines, performance, and standards.

Demonstrating the technical feasibility of your design choices to meet regulatory and standards constraints, participating in troubleshooting, managing non-conformities in series projects, and supporting production and clients are also key aspects of this role. On-site analysis, inspection, and consulting missions are part of your duties.

Applicants should have a higher education degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in an engineering office, enabling understanding of its operation and quality rules. Technical skills should include RDM calculations, functional dimensioning, knowledge of metallic materials, manufacturing, and inspection processes. Proficiency in SolidWorks and a good level of English are required.
