Overview

GravitHy is an innovative French company born with a global ambition to decarbonize the steel industry. Our goal is to produce large-scale, low-carbon green Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) using renewable and low-emission hydrogen. We aim to build, own, and operate our first green iron plant in southern France (2.3B€ Capex), with the intention of replicating this model across Europe and beyond.

About the Role :

GravitHy is seeking an Industrial Purchaser (W / M) to strengthen its procurement team and support the development of its first large-scale industrial unit. This role is key in deploying GravitHy’s purchasing strategy, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring cost, quality, and schedule performance across all procurement activities.

The Industrial Purchaser will be based in Paris, with regular travel to Fos-sur-Mer and engineering partners. This position reports to the Head of Procurement.

Responsibilities
  • Procurement Execution: Identify and evaluate suppliers aligned with project needs; Negotiate purchasing contracts to secure optimal price, quality, and delivery conditions; Support contract execution through to delivery of goods or services; Ensure compliance with quality and technical requirements.
  • Market & Risk Analysis: Monitor market trends, including raw materials and energy price evolution; Conduct competitive intelligence to anticipate variations and adapt purchasing strategies; Identify and assess supplier risks, implement mitigation measures.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers; Regularly evaluate supplier performance and propose corrective actions; Ensure business continuity through proactive risk management.
  • Cost Optimization & Budgeting: Contribute to purchasing budget preparation and track adherence; Identify cost reduction opportunities while safeguarding quality.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Propose innovative solutions to improve procurement processes and efficiency; Deploy best practices in line with quality management systems (ISO 9001); Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement team.
Profile

Education

  • Engineering or Business degree with specialization in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Industrial Management.

Experience

  • Proven experience in industrial procurement, ideally within large-scale projects or heavy industry.
  • Strong background in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Knowledge of procurement tools, stock management systems, and budgeting.

Key Competencies

  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management abilities (planning, budgeting, reporting).
  • Ability to structure supplier reporting and risk monitoring.
  • Rigorous and detail-oriented, with strong synthesis capacity.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
