Job summary

SDSN in Paris seeks an experienced Accountant, Finance & Operations to manage accounting in a nonprofit environment, including general ledger, reconciliations, and Sage Intacct. The role covers Paris books, budgeting, and payroll entries with PayFit, collaborating with the New York office.

The candidate should have excellent English, strong Excel skills, and a keen eye for detail to handle multiple tasks in a hybrid Paris-based setting with two teleworking days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Anglo-Saxon accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Excellent English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage entries in the accounting system (Intacct).
• Manage the Paris books, including compiling supporting documentation and archiving.
• Help manage the Paris bank account (payments, reconciliations).
• Prepare quarterly cash requests to the New York office.
• Help prepare the annual budget for the Management & Operations department.
• Help with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
• Payroll-related tasks in PayFit and payroll system upkeep.
• Review staff expense reports and donor invoices/reports.
• Assist with annual audits in New York and Paris.
