What is the role?
As an Image Quality Engineer at EnduroSat, your responsibility is to ensure that satellite data downloaded from satellites designed and developed by EnduroSat are at the right level of quality.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
- Supporting Remote Sensing constellation projects in EnduroSat, from the business development phase until the operational data acquisition phase:
- In the business development and design phase, your job will be to ensure that customer data quality requirements are well understood and that the proposed design will meet these requirements.
- In the development phase, you will define a project data calibration and validation plan, and you will be responsible for the execution of this plan once approved, under the leadership of the project manager.
- At the end of the development phase, you will demonstrate to the customer that the desired data quality will be achieved. You will also lead the data calibration and validation activities during the in-orbit commissioning of new satellites.
- In the operational phase, you will set up the processes where data quality is constantly monitored and verified.
- You will participate in customer support activities regarding data quality and will also be required to attend some conferences and events.
What do we look for?
- MSc degree in physics, aerospace engineering, geospatial information systems, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in the space industry on satellite imagery ground segments.
- Technical expertise in optical sensors, image quality performance, and associated analysis tools.
- Technical expertise in optical sensor geometric and radiometric data quality analysis, orthorectification, and atmospheric correction.
- Excellent English speaking/writing skills.
- Citizen of a member state of the European Union.
How to Stand Out:
- Ph.D. in Space Optics or equivalent
- Experience with European satellite imagery providers and/or consumers
- Extensive network within the satellite remote sensing industry.
- Technical experience/skills with embedded systems
- Technical experience/skills in developing satellite imagery applications
- Interested in training others.
