<h3>Secondary IBDP English Teacher (MYP & IGCSE)</h3>
<p>ISN seeks a Secondary IBDP English Teacher with MYP & IGCSE experience, who can provide excellent instruction and dynamic learning opportunities for Middle and High School, in alignment with ISN’s vision and mission, while supporting Globeducate events when appropriate for the department. The English department emphasises conceptual learning through literary and non- literary texts with an approach following a dynamic and internationally designed MYP, IGCSE and IBDP curricula.</p>
<p>All teachers at ISN are expected to effectively develop and deliver the curriculum to the highest of standards.</p>
<p>You will be working within the English Department and closely in line with the EAL department. The department functions in a collaborative and supportive manner based on mutual respect and understanding. We strive to deliver a dynamic programme at all levels and share best practices in an open and empathetic environment.</p>
<h3>Teaching responsibilities</h3>

<li>Plan and prepare learning activities that guide students towards achievement of curriculum objectives</li>
<li>Use and develop a range of instructional techniques including inquiry based, project based and problem based learning using media consistent with available resources and student needs and capabilities</li>
<li>Expand student use of individual and collaborative strategies to generate concepts and ideas</li>
<li>Incorporate new technologies and tools in the creative process</li>
<li>Evaluate each student's performance on an ongoing basis</li>
<li>Ensure the required standards of classroom management and student behavior are met</li>
<li>Work collaboratively within the English department</li>
<li>Work collaboratively to support interdisciplinary projects</li>
<li>Ensure a learning environment conducive to learning</li>
</ul>
<h3>Student safety and support responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the Director of Inclusion to ensure that teachers are aware of students' specific learning needs.</li>
<li>Ensure that students who meet requirements have inclusive assessment arrangements.</li>
<li>Ensure all activities are carried out with due regard to health, safety and safeguarding, in accordance with the Safe Guarding and Child Protection Policy.</li>

<h3>Education and Experience</h3>

<li>Bachelor's degree in English</li>
<li>Qualified teaching certificate/licensure</li>
<li>Experience in teaching in one or more of the following curriculums: MYP, IBDP/A Level/Advanced Placement or equivalent, IBDP English A +B level</li>
<li>An understanding of the approaches to teaching that include meaningful feedback, student reflection, and ATL skills.</li>

<h3>Teaching information</h3>
<p>Teachers at ISN are expected to hold an undergraduate degree in their chosen teaching subject, as well as a proper accredited teaching certification such as a postgraduate diploma, in addition to at least two years’ teaching experience.</p>
