Joining the French Geological Survey (BRGM) means becoming part of France’s leading public institution for Earth Science applications, bringing together 1,000 experts across 29 bases in Mainland and Overseas France. BRGM focuses on enhancing geological knowledge and understanding surface and sub-surface phenomena, addressing environmental challenges through innovative projects with societal implications.

The missions of the Groundwater Data and Repositories team within the Water Directorate (DE/DRE) include acquiring, qualifying, managing, disseminating, and mapping groundwater data to improve understanding of hydrogeological systems for better water resource management amid global change.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Initiating, managing, and implementing national and international projects to disseminate water data;
  • Contributing to government requests for expert appraisals;
  • Representing BRGM in national and international working groups;
  • Developing innovative approaches within multidisciplinary projects or themes of the DE/DRE team;
  • Building and maintaining a network of national and international research partners to support research projects and public policies aligned with the team's themes.

Required expertise:

  • Knowledge of scientific and technical issues related to water data;
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative hydrogeology;
  • Experience in project setup and management;
  • Good understanding of European directives and national water policies;
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
