Deadline for applications : 07 / 09 / 25
Who are we?
The Laboratoire d'Hydrodynamique Marine (LHyMar), part of the Recherches et Développements Technologiques (RDT) unit, conducts research activities considering two main scientific themes : Marine Engineering and Marine Renewable Energies (MRE). Research issues are mainly addressed through experimental modeling on scale models and in-situ experimentation. The branch of the laboratory based in Boulogne sur Mer, brings together researchers, engineers, technicians and doctoral students, using state-of-the-art hydrodynamic testing facilities to study complex wave / current / structure interaction phenomena in a wide range of application fields, including topical issues (development of tidal and wind farms, hybrid propulsion systems, etc.).
What will your mission BE ?
Fully in line with the Institute's Contract of Objectives and Means (COMP) and the roadmap of the Physical Resources and Seabed Ecosystems (REM) department, your mission will BE at the heart of the development of marine renewable energy conversion systems, vessels and underwater devices. Reporting to the laboratory manager, and working closely with the hydrodynamic testing team, you will take part in scale-model testing of prototypes subjected to the combined action of waves and current. You will implement test-specific measuring equipment, including laser velocimetry systems. You contribute to the design and instrumentation of the models, data processing (LDV, PIV, load), analysis and exploitation of the results, as well as their valorization. You will also BE involved in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the experimental infrastructures.
Through your involvement in these various activities, you will contribute to the smooth running of the research work carried out by the laboratory teams and PhD students, as well as to the collaborative projects carried out within the RDT unit (projects supported by industry, ANR, ADEME, Observatoire de l'éolien en mer...).
