Job Title: Human Resources & Office Manager
Location: Fully Remote - must have remote or remote-first experience and French labour law knowledge.
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview: Looking for a proactive and strategic Human Resources & Office Manager to lead HR and operational excellence across a remote-first team. You will shape our culture, manage core HR processes, and ensure systems, tools, and people strategies scale effectively with growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attract and retain top talent through effective recruitment strategies
- Lead performance management and promote employee well-being
- Design and implement career development frameworks
- Manage and automate HR administration processes (e.g., payroll, expenses, attendance, travel)
- Ensure compliance with labour regulations in a multicultural, international environment
- Define and monitor HR KPIs such as gender balance, equal pay, and employee engagement
- Coach and empower managers to grow as leaders
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Implement and manage HR tools and platforms suitable for a distributed workforce
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations in collaboration with finance/accounting partners
Office & Culture Management:
- Foster and maintain a thriving remote-first work culture
- Organise internal virtual and hybrid events to support connection and morale
- Act as a key contact for remote operations and asynchronous communication practices
- Promote digital efficiency and collaboration through platforms like Slack, Notion, and HRIS tools
Requirements:
- Fluent in both French and English (a third language is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of French labour law (Master’s degree or PhD preferred)
- Based in Paris, supporting remote-first operations
- Proven experience in HR within early-stage startups (Series A–B, under 100 employees)
- Experience working in remote-only or remote-first environments
- Experience implementing HR tools and systems in startups
- Digital operations expertise, strong knowledge of Slack
- Managing payroll and administrative processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
Nice to Have:
- Background in recruitment or agency experience
- Scientific training in biology, biotechnology, or computer science
- Coaching certification or leadership development experience
