About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing organisation in the Medical Technology sector, combining innovation, precision technology, and meaningful patient impact. With a dynamic team of around 50 employees, they are seeking an experienced Interim HR Business Partner to support the leadership team during a critical phase of growth and transformation.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on HR Business Partner with experience in life sciences, biotech, medical devices, or technology-driven companies. This is a pivotal role, working closely with the leadership team (approximately four key managers) to embed strong HR practices, drive performance management, and ensure operational excellence in people-related matters.
- This is not a purely strategic role – the successful candidate must be comfortable being hands-on, working directly with managers and employees, and ensuring HR fundamentals are delivered to a high standard.
- The role is offered as a 12-month initial contract on an hourly rate basis and would require a 2-2.5 days commitment.
- The position reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the leadership team to shape and execute people strategy aligned with business goals.
- Act as trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
- Implement and oversee performance review frameworks, coaching managers on feedback and goal-setting.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and talent development activities.
- Ensure compliance with French labour law / “convention collective” and HR best practices.
- Liaise with and manage outsourced HR providers to deliver compliant HR processes (contracts, payroll liaison, employee files, annual reviews) while keeping a pragmatic, business-focused approach.
- Champion employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives.
- Act as a cultural ambassador, strengthening collaboration and communication within a scaling organisation.
Profile
- 10+ years HR experience, ideally in life sciences, biotech, medical devices, or technology.
- Solid experience supporting first-time / less experienced managers in a scaling or start-up environment.
- Strong knowledge of French working culture, French labour law, and HR compliance.
- Proven experience as HR Business Partner or HR Director in a small to mid-sized organisation.
- Bilingual (French & English) and able to operate confidently in both languages.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
- Track record in performance management, talent development, and advising senior managers.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across levels.
