Role Overview:
Seeking a proactive and strategic Human Resources & Office Manager to lead HR and operational excellence in a remote-first team. You will shape our culture, manage core HR processes, and ensure our systems and strategies scale with growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Human Resources:
- Attract and retain top talent via effective recruitment strategies
- Lead performance management and promote employee well-being
- Design and implement career development frameworks
- Manage and automate HR processes (payroll, expenses, attendance, travel)
- Ensure compliance with labour regulations in a multicultural environment
- Define and monitor HR KPIs such as gender balance, equal pay, and engagement
- Coach managers to grow as leaders
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Implement and manage HR tools suitable for a distributed workforce
- Manage payroll operations with finance partners
- Office & Culture Management:
- Foster and maintain a remote-first work culture
- Organise virtual and hybrid events to boost morale
- Act as a key contact for remote operations and communication practices
- Promote digital efficiency through platforms like Slack, Notion, and HRIS
Requirements:
- Fluent in French and English; third language a plus
- Strong knowledge of French labour law (Master’s or PhD preferred)
- Based in Paris, supporting remote-first operations
- Experience in HR within an early-stage startup (Series A–B, <100 employees)
- Experience in remote-only or remote-first environments
- Implemented HR systems in startup contexts
- Expertise in digital operations and tools like Slack
- Experience managing payroll and HR administrative processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
Nice to Have:
- Background in recruitment or agency work
- Scientific training in biology, biotech, or computer science
- Coaching certification or leadership development experience
