You will manage the delivery of all HSE activities in a manufacturing facility or commercial areas (offices, Sales, Warehouses), including standards & procedures, capability processes, reporting, compliance and audit. That means you will define and review standards and legislation applicable to the site, validate design for HSE into projects and modifications, and support defined work processes (IIM pillar) to improve HSE application and effectiveness. Also, you will map all applicable legislation and internal standards, ensure ongoing compliance and manage relationships with legal departments and local authorities. You will maintain all HSE regulatory requirements for the plant.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Coordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus on annual plans for facility/function-wide HSE initiatives.
  • Plan, budget, and control the annual capital budget for HSE to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal and external compliance standards.
  • Provide HSE expertise for the facility/function for all new projects and change management activities.
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow-ups are implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents and asset losses that might cause harm to employees, contractors, or visitors.
  • Ensure that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning, supporting the development and learning capabilities of Safety specialists.
  • Ensure the facility standards are in compliance with both company and governmental/community regulations.
  • Ensure training and coaching are conducted to drive a safety-oriented culture and ensure safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the organization.

What you need to know about this position:

  • The role is a member of the Regional HSE Leadership team and the Category or Regional Leadership team.
  • They provide leadership and administration to the overall HSE program by developing plans for implementing the 3-year regional strategy, achieving consensus and buy-in from the leadership team, and actively driving the implementation and monitoring of progress.
  • The position will liaise with the Regional HSE team to ensure alignment with global, regional, and category strategies and targets, as well as to coordinate support for the plan in a timely manner.
  • The role will also mentor and support Plant HSE Managers.
  • Overall primary advisor to the Category/Regional Leader, Plant/Cluster Directors, and contact point for all HSE Managers in the area.
  • Sets standards for performance and continuous improvement.
  • Supports prioritization of capex spending for HSE improvement and compliance projects.

Job specific requirements:

  • Defines the Category/Regional HSE Plan, ensuring alignment with the MEU Regional and global strategy.
  • Develops performance standards and recommends how to implement them at Clusters and Plants.
  • Conducts periodic assessments to monitor and aid Plant HSE compliance to Mondelez standards.
  • Provides HSE expertise and seeks guidance from internal or external subject matter experts.
  • Ensures compliance with MDLZ standards, policies, and regulatory requirements, including for new projects and change management, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Develops local capabilities through training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Benchmarks and stays up-to-date with latest trends, research, and best practices in HSE, sharing insights with stakeholders.
  • Is a member of the Regional/Category leadership team and leads on some aspects of the MEU HSE Plan.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • University Degree in Health, Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, or equivalent.
  • Internal non-HSE candidates must gain H, S, and/or E qualifications within 2 years of appointment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in health, occupational health, and/or safety, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated team, change, and project management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience with auditing systems, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and project management.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and driving cultural change.
  • The ability to travel as required.
  • Fluent in French and English.
