Our Dunkerque manufacturing facility is a world-class site producing inhaled devices, with about 450 employees manufacturing dry powder and aerosol drugs for respiratory diseases globally. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission ensuring our products reach patients swiftly.

We are seeking a Construction Safety Manager to support our Dunkerque site expansion. The role is based on-site at our facility in Dunkerque, France, on a renewable 1-year contract. The ideal candidate will be experienced in construction SHE, capable of providing assurance and collaborating with supply chain and local teams to uphold high safety standards. Engagement with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, is essential.

Role Deliverables

• Provide Construction Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) SME capabilities to support the project portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with legal duties, oversee the HS&W assurance program, and promote best practices during design and execution phases.
• Input into procurement and execution strategies.
• Lead HS&W aspects during the RFP process for design and execution.
• Pre-qualify contractors, review assessments, and address any gaps.
• Onboard contractor management teams into the HS&W program, ensuring alignment and commitment.
• Verify contractors have adequate HS&W resources, review CVs, and monitor performance.
• Ensure contractors develop compliant construction phase plans and HS&W programs, conducting regular site inspections.
• Collaborate on HS&W and cultural improvement initiatives with contractors.
• Identify opportunities for HS&W improvements during project design.
• Clarify responsibilities with contractors, including temporary facilities.
• Implement procedures for drug and alcohol testing, schedule testing, and manage non-compliances, considering legal restrictions.
• Report and investigate accidents and incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and ensure legal reporting duties are met.
• Maintain HS&W dashboards and meet reporting requirements.
• Share global SHE alerts and incident learnings across the portfolio.
• Participate in regional construction SHE networks and align practices.
• Collaborate with local SHE leadership and support development of construction HS&W skills within project teams.
