HSE Fire Protection Design Engineer

Job summary

Exyte in Lyon is seeking a dedicated HSE Design Engineer to join our internal project teams. You will work closely with project managers and engineers across disciplines to design fire protection and HSE solutions for pharma, microelectronics, and data center projects.

From Conceptual to Detailed Design, you will conduct HSE studies, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable practices while traveling about two days per week.

Qualifications

• Initial engineering experience, ideally in an HSE role.
• Solid understanding of fire protection, HSE regulations, and industrial environments.
• Experience with multiple tasks listed in the role is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a team, be adaptable, detail-oriented, autonomous, and analytical.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel approximately two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assess project risks and develop HSE action plans.
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Design and sizing studies for fire protection systems.
• Review engineering deliverables and oversee installations.
• Promote sustainability practices and responsible project methods.
• Foster accountability, safety, and quality among stakeholders.
• Share lessons learned and best practices.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients with practical solutions.
• Maintain and optimize tools and processes; develop new ones.
