Job summary

Join Sandoz France Toulouse as the Head of Environmental, Health & Safety, leading a strategic site-wide EH&S program and acting as the legal representative for site matters.

You will drive the EH&S strategy, ensure regulatory readiness, lead investigations, and mentor the EH&S team while collaborating with discovery, process development, quality, and manufacturing to embed safety in all operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational safety or related field; EHS training preferred.
• 15+ years related experience with ~10 years of leadership management experience and minimum of 5 years in EHS within pharmaceuticals.
• Strong knowledge of French EHS laws and regulations impacting operations.
• Experience in incident investigations and interaction with regulatory agencies.
• Experience in lab and commercial manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the site EH&S strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and local regulatory requirements.
• Ensure robustness of the site EH&S management system during ramp-up and steady-state operations.
• Act as the primary EH&S interface with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure site readiness for inspections and audits; oversee regulatory commitments and follow-up actions.
• Provide strategic leadership and prioritization on EH&S risks impacting operations, projects, and investments.
• Oversee high-severity incidents and ensure systemic corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide direction, coaching, and oversight to the EH&S Manager and team, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
• Define EH&S resourcing strategy, including use of temporary or external support during peak workload periods.
• Represent the site in corporate and global EH&S governance forums and decision-making bodies.
• Actively contribute to site leadership decisions, integrating EH&S considerations into operational and strategic planning.
