Role Overview
Seeking a proactive and strategic Human Resources & Office Manager (HRO Manager) to lead HR and operational excellence within a remote-first team. You will shape company culture, manage core HR processes, and ensure systems and strategies scale with growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Attract and retain top talent through effective recruitment strategies
- Lead performance management and promote employee well-being
- Design and implement career development frameworks
- Manage and automate HR administration processes (payroll, expenses, attendance, travel)
- Ensure compliance with labour regulations in a multicultural environment
- Define and monitor HR KPIs such as gender balance, equal pay, and engagement
- Coach and empower managers to grow as leaders
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Implement and manage HR tools suitable for a distributed workforce
- Manage payroll operations in collaboration with finance
Office & Culture Management
- Foster and maintain a remote-first work culture
- Organise virtual and hybrid events to support connection and morale
- Act as a key contact for remote operations and communication practices
- Promote digital efficiency through platforms like Slack, Notion, and HRIS tools
Requirements
- Fluent in French and English (additional languages a plus)
- Strong knowledge of French labour law (Master’s degree or PhD preferred)
- Based in Paris, supporting remote operations
- Proven HR experience in early-stage startups (Series A–B, <100 employees)
- Experience in remote-only or remote-first environments
- Implemented HR tools and systems in startups
- Digital operations expertise with tools like Slack
- Managing payroll and administrative processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
Nice to Have
- Background in recruitment or agency experience
- Scientific training in biology, biotech, or computer science
- Coaching certification or leadership development experience
