Job summary

Viridien in Massy is seeking an intern to analyze the latest compiler developments for C++ and Fortran used in high‑performance scientific computing. You will review the current environment, test the new compiler range, and analyze performance gains across selected workloads.

You’ll join a team of around fifteen professionals in Massy, collaborating globally, with opportunities to learn, test, and recommend optimizations in an international setting. English communication is expected.

Qualifications

• You are pursuing a Master 2 degree in computer science (engineering school or university) and want to apply your skills in an innovative environment.
• You are curious, motivated and proactive with an analytical mind and initiative taking.
• You are a good listener capable of understanding colleagues’ needs and contributing to projects.
• You have a solid foundation in Linux scripting and are proficient in C, Fortran or Python; you are comfortable communicating in English.

Responsibilities

• Review Viridien's current compilation environment and plan migration considerations.
• Get hands-on with the next version of the compiler range and perform a literature review of major changes.
• Select test cases from synthetic or production code and analyze compiler outputs.
• Compare optimizations based on enabled options and assess performance gains.
• Present progress to the team throughout the internship.

You will run tests, compare results and make recommendations to support this technological transition.About the TeamYou will join a team of around fifteen professionals in Massy, where we develop and maintain our in-house scientific computing software and all its complementary tools (HPC, Big Data, AI).
