Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Histology Technician to process and embed tissue, perform routine and special stains, and maintain quality control in a high-complexity laboratory.

The role requires an AS degree in histology or related field, 1 year of histology experience, and competency with computer systems and MS Office. Certification is preferred. Candidates will work to ensure accurate labeling and patient confidentiality while supporting a safe lab environment.

Qualificações

• Associate of science degree in NAACLS-accredited histology technician program or 60 semester hours including 12 chemistry and biology.
• One year of LSA experience in a high complexity histology lab or equivalent.
• ASCP Histotechnologist Certification preferred.
• Success in accredited histology program preferred.
• Computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Process and embed tissue in paraffin and cut blocks using microtomes.
• Stain tissue and evaluate stain quality and sections.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure clean work environment per protocols.
• Participate in inter-shift coverage for time off and holidays.
• Prepare slides and blocks with patient identification per lab practices.
