Job Title: High Risk Work Trainer (French-English Bilingual)

Purpose:

The Trainer / Assessor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce by delivering high-quality vocational education and training (VET) that meets rigorous Australian standards. This role is responsible for training and assessing learners to achieve nationally recognized certifications under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). By facilitating engaging training sessions, conducting competency-based assessments, and ensuring full compliance with national accreditation frameworks, the Trainer / Assessor empowers individuals to develop the essential skills and qualifications required for professional success. Working with a developing workforce will see the Trainer/Assessor encounter Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) deficiencies. The ability to structure and deliver LLN Courses to meet the workforce needs will be highly regarded.

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and bilingual High Risk Work Trainer to deliver accredited high-risk training to workers across a variety of industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will be fluent in French and English and experienced in high-risk licensing and operations.

You will train, assess, and mentor workers in high-risk tasks, ensuring competency, safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-risk work licence training and assessments in both French and English, catering to multilingual workforces.
  • Deliver training across a range of high-risk competencies including:

>Elevated Work Platform (Under & Over 11m Boom)

>Basic Rigging

>Basic Scaffolding

>Slewing Crane Operations

>Non-Slew Crane Operations

>Gantry/Overhead Crane Operation

>Lifting Operations

>Vehicle Loading Crane

>Telescopic Material Handler Operation

  • Conduct assessments in line with ASQA and WHS requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide additional support where language or cultural differences may be a barrier to learning.
  • Contribute to course development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all training activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold current licences/competencies to deliver and assess high-risk units (as per state/territory regulatory authority).
  • Proven experience delivering high-risk training in an industry training setting.
  • Fluent in both French and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in conducting practical assessments in field or simulated environments.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultural groups and adapt training delivery as needed.
