Health Economics and Outcomes Research Consultant

Health Economics and Outcomes Research Consultant – 6 month contract

This role is focused on developing the value argumentation for vosoritide within skeletal dysplasia. Key activities include evidence synthesis (including systematic reviews, health economic modelling, and outcomes research) as well as supporting reimbursement processes with the development of reimbursement dossiers and adaption of models.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plan, develop, synthesize and disseminate HEOR evidence to demonstrate the value of BioMarin’s assets with a focus on vosoritide in achondroplasia.
  2. Represent market access in global cross-functional forums including the Integrated Evidence Team.
  3. Review clinical development plans including trial design, endpoints and analytical strategies to ensure they meet payer needs.
  4. Support health technology assessment (HTA) submissions and payer interactions as required across key markets.
  5. Maintain knowledge of HTA policy and continue innovation in approaches to HTA in rare diseases.

SCOPE

The role is part of the Global HEOR team which sits within Value Access & Strategic Pricing (VASP). It will include a high degree of cross-functional collaboration with the Skeletal Conditions Business Unit, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, clinical sciences, data sciences, patient affairs and with regional and local market access teams. It will also involve liaising with external stakeholders including payers, HTA agencies and key opinion leaders.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. pharmacy, medical science, science). Post graduate qualifications (Masters or PhD) in public health, health economics, epidemiology or statistics preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Health economic experience in consulting and in industry, with preference for industry.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of different payer archetypes and appreciation for the broader market access environment – ideally gained across multiple countries.
  • Experience working in rare disease therapy areas an advantage.
