To meet our challenges, we are looking for our next Head of Strategic Marketing (M / F) within the Strategic Marketing Team, on a permanent contract! This position will be located in La Madeleine (Lille) and will report to the Head of Marketing for Food & Nutrition.

Your mission?

The Head of Strategic Marketing for our Food & Nutrition division will play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategy. This position involves identifying key opportunities and crafting actionable recommendations on where to play and how to win in the global market. You will drive market segment leadership within the Food & Beverage industry by delivering critical foresights and insights, transforming data into strategic initiatives, leading the development and deployment of an innovation pipeline, and contributing significantly to our decision-making processes.

Your experience and talents will make the difference to:

  • Develop a global strategy and marketing plan on an annual basis.
  • Analyze and develop insights from different market data suppliers and transform them into potential opportunities.
  • Connect with the regions to understand their needs and initiatives to elevate at a global level and connect with corporate strategy.
  • Segment strategies short and long-term, including market data analysis across the value chain.
  • Identify sub-segment opportunities for current and future growth.
  • Create compelling stories on trends in the marketplace to promote to customers linked to Roquette’s portfolio.
  • Transform data into actionable insights in service of the innovation pipeline and current business opportunities.
  • Lead and steer the current and future Innovation Platforms, including the stage gate process.
  • Prioritize innovation projects, determining their potential and impact for the business.
  • Connect with external partners like academia and start-up companies to accelerate innovation.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and pre-empt potential areas of strategic alignment.
  • Conduct market research to identify key opportunities.
  • Identify gaps in the current RQ portfolio to contribute to future acquisition targets and novel product development.
  • Be accountable for the VM (Variable Margin) and GM (Gross Margin) of the segments.
  • Collect and share best practices across regions for each segment.

What will we love about you?

We are seeking a Head of Strategic Marketing who excels in developing high-performance teams and influencing marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will lead and design his/her team, optimize marketing processes, and advocate for open communication and a collaborative culture. Strong analytical skills are essential for drawing actionable insights from large data sets, including market and financial data. Exceptional communication skills are necessary, with the ability to persuasively present at the board level. Familiarity with human-centered design thinking, project management, and innovation processes is also required.

  • Graduated in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related technical degree.
  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or Economics is a plus.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in B2B Marketing, Strategy, and/or Innovation within the Food Ingredients and/or Life Sciences Industry.
  • Proven track record of establishing and implementing strategies and programs and leading a team.
  • Knowledge of innovation processes like stages and gates.
  • Familiarity with ideation, design thinking, and human-centered design methods is a plus.
  • Established relationships with food manufacturers and knowledge is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required due to our international company.
