Job summary

Valis seeks a CTO-level engineering leader to own architecture from data ingestion to production readiness, and to drive client engagements at the C-suite level. The role combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership to build scalable multi-tenant systems and AI integrations.

You will architect the org and personal brain, manage deployments, optimize costs, and shape the engineering culture. Fluency in English and a track record of delivering large-scale AI deployments are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years as CTO or similar leadership role.
• Track record building systems from zero to production with real users and load.
• Deep hands-on experience running LLMs in production: agents, RAG, MCP, cost control.
• Strong backend architecture and data engineering: distributed systems and security.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture including data ingestion, storage, retrieval, agents and integrations.
• Be hands-on and code where it matters, not only manage people.
• Define access control, data retention, GDPR compliance and multi-tenancy.
• Lead deployments and turn client-specific work into scalable products.
• Hire, develop and manage an engineering team and set a high-performance culture.
