Eni is seeking a Head of Engineering in Paris to lead the Engineering team for the French renewables portfolio, covering PV, wind and BESS projects. The role reports to Head of Projects and Construction and focuses on technical governance and delivery across development to commissioning.

The candidate will bring extensive renewable energy leadership, strong communication, and fluency in French and English. Italian would be advantageous, and regulatory alignment is key.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with extensive renewable energy experience, incl. utility-scale PV, wind and BESS.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Experience managing engineering teams and consultants.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage the Engineering team, setting priorities and resources.
• Provide technical governance across development, construction, commissioning, and operations for PV, wind, and BESS.
• Review and arbitrate technical solutions ensuring robustness and cost-efficiency.
• Coordinate external consultants, advisers, and contractors per requirements, budget, and quality.
• Define and maintain technical standards and procedures for France, aligned with regulations.
• Ensure alignment with Group/HQ Engineering while adapting to French market.
• Support milestones: RTB, tendering, FID, construction, commissioning with technical input.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across portfolio.

At Eni, we are looking for a Head of Engineering to join Eni Plenitude Renewables France. Reporting to the Head of Projects and Construction, the Head of Engineering will lead the Engineering team and be responsible for the technical governance of the French renewable energy portfolio.

Main responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Engineering team, setting priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering activities across the project portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across the development, construction, commissioning, and operational phases of PV, wind, and BESS projects.
• Review, challenge, and arbitrate technical solutions and project assumptions, ensuring projects are technically robust, optimised, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives.
• Coordinate and oversee external engineering consultants, technical advisers, and contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Define and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practices for the French organisation, ensuring compliance with French regulations, grid requirements, and Group standards.
• Ensure alignment with Group/HQ Engineering while adapting technical approaches and standards to French market and regulatory requirements.
• Support key project milestones, including RTB, tendering, FID, construction, and commissioning, by providing technical recommendations and ensuring major technical decisions are properly assessed and documented.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across the project portfolio, leveraging lessons learned and promoting efficient, consistent, and high-quality engineering practices.

Skills and experience required

• Engineering degree with extensive experience in renewable energy, including significant experience in utility-scale solar PV, wind and BESS projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong technical understanding of PV, BESS and wind projects, including electrical systems, grid connections, civil works, permitting and construction.
• Strong ability to challenge technical proposals, arbitrate between alternatives, and make pragmatic, business-oriented decisions.
  Experience managing engineering consultants, technical advisers, EPC contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Good knowledge of French technical regulations and applicable international standards.
• Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural and international environment.
• Fluency in French and English is mandatory. Italian would be an advantage.
