Overview

We are looking for a Head of Accounting to lead the accounting function of our fast-growing company, with business activities in Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, and soon the UK. The role is based in France (hybrid work model) and reports directly to the Group CFO.

The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage all internal and external accounting resources, ensure compliance with local GAAP and IFRS, drive process improvement and automation, and finalize the implementation of our Group accounting system (NetSuite).

This is a key leadership role within a dynamic, start-up-oriented environment, requiring strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate multi-country operations.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate the full accounting team, including internal resources, external partners, and external permanent contractors.

  • Ensure accountability remains within the Group (not external partners).

  • Oversee the implementation of accounting functions in new countries when required.

Accounting Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure all accounting tasks are accurately and timely completed in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and Group policies.

  • Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across all entities.

  • Oversee local audit processes and ensure strong collaboration with external auditors.

  • Support the Group-wide implementation of IFRS standards and ensure IFRS-related journal entries are correctly recorded.

System Implementation & Process Optimization
  • Lead the finalization of our Group accounting system (NetSuite) while ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems.

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Train and upskill the team to better utilize financial and accounting systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with VP FP&A, Director of Consolidation, and Business Leaders to align financial reporting with operational needs.

  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights to support decision-making.

  • Support the budgeting process on an ad-hoc basis, in collaboration with the FP&A team.

Your Profile
1. Experience & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, including a leadership role in a multi-entity, international business.

  • Strong expertise in at least one local GAAP (France, Germany, Denmark).

  • Experience in Local GAAP / IFRS implementation and audit oversight.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred).

  • Background in software/SaaS or a fast-paced environment is a plus.

2. Key Skills
  • Strong team management & leadership: Ability to coordinate internal and external teams across multiple geographies.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French fluency is a strong plus.

  • Project management skills to drive system implementation and process improvements.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.

  • Technological mindset: Strong experience with financial software and automation tools.

3. Personal Qualities
  • Integrity & accountability: Strong ethical standards and ownership mindset.

  • Problem-solving ability: Adaptability in a fast-changing environment.

  • Proactive & hands-on: Willingness to dive deep into operational matters.

What We Offer
  • A key leadership role in a fast-growing SaaS Group

  • A dynamic, international, start-up culture with autonomy and impact

  • Competitive salary & benefits package

  • Hybrid work model
