HBCE Head of Capital Management

Here in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business. Finance Treasury is currently seeking an ambitious individual to join as HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE) Head of Capital Management. Finance Treasury manages the bank’s balance sheet, interfacing with regulators and senior stakeholders to ensure liquidity, capital adequacy, and profitability. The role reports to the HBCE Treasurer and is based in Paris with a hybrid working pattern.

What you will do:

The primary objective is to lead the capital team for HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE), including France entities, branches in Germany, Malta (HBMT), and Private Bank Luxembourg (PBLU).

Responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders to manage capital processes, such as:

• Oversee capital regulatory submissions, including ICAAP, and present to committees and boards.
• Manage capital planning and forecasting, including the FRP, forecasts for ECB, and risk assessment.
• Review stress test impacts and ensure compliance with standards and expectations.
• Engage with IRR programmes to maintain control environment.
• Coordinate with Group Funding and Markets Treasury on capital issuance plans.
• Collaborate with various teams to achieve financial targets and understand HSBC group capital dynamics.
• Communicate regulatory changes and act as liaison with regulators.
• Manage and develop the Capital Management team in Europe and offshore.
• Seek efficiency improvements through automation and control measures.
• Work with Risk Management and Internal Audit to ensure robust controls.
