As a HAZOP Moderator, you will be responsible for facilitating HAZOP reviews across our operations, ensuring that all process safety risks are systematically identified and evaluated. You will collect and validate critical process data, provide expert guidance on safety regulations, and act as a key resource for methodological accuracy and process safety expertise.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and process safety specialists while maintaining an independent and objective stance to challenge assumptions and improve safety measures.

Your expertise in HAZOP methodology, explosion hazards, and thermal stability risks will be essential in enhancing Envalior’s safety culture.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Act as a HAZOP Moderator, ensuring compliance with Envalior’s procedures.
  • Lead HAZOP studies with a structured, independent, and expert approach.
  • Ensure correct and uniform application of HAZOP methodology.
  • Collect, review, and validate all necessary data before HAZOP sessions (P&IDs, equipment data, process data, etc.).
  • Create and manage HAZOP reports in PHA-PRO.
  • Provide first-line expertise on process safety topics, such as explosion risks, and consult with process safety engineers or external specialists when required.
  • Challenge over- or underestimations during HAZOP sessions to ensure balanced risk assessments.
  • Maintain independence from operations and maintenance, ensuring objective decision-making.
  • Guide and challenge the HAZOP team, applying both methodological expertise and process safety knowledge.
DE IDEALE KANDIDAAT
  • Master’s degree in Process, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a process safety environment.
  • Strong expertise in process safety and HAZOP methodology, including:
    o PHA-PRO/HAZOP training.
    o Explosion protection in chemical plants.
    o Safety devices and pressure safety training.
  • Familiar with PHA-PRO and MS Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements.
  • Proficient in Dutch.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to challenge and guide teams effectively.
  • Machine safety expertise is a plus
