A leading health research organization seeks candidates for multiple Scientist positions (C, D, E) under the Central Government's Department of Health Research. Ideal applicants will have extensive experience in health-related studies and requisite educational qualifications. The Department of Health Research (DHR) was indeed created as a new department under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in India. This establishment occurred through a Presidential notification dated September 17, 2007. The purpose of establishing the DHR was to facilitate an efficient and effective health research system within the country.
To fulfill its mandate, the Department of Health Research operates various schemes and programs. These initiatives aim to promote and support health research activities in India. By funding research projects, providing fellowships, and organizing workshops and conferences, the DHR encourages scientific investigations and innovations in the field of health.
Eligibility Conditions for appointment on deputation (including short-term contract) basis:
Applicants must be officers under Central Government or State Governments or Union territory Administrations or public sector undertakings or recognized Universities or recognized research institutions or autonomous bodies or statutory organizations. They should meet the following criteria:
(a) Holders of analogous post: (i) The candidate should be holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department, or (ii) The candidate should have at least five years of service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in level 10 in the pay matrix (Rs. 56100 – 177500) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
(b) Qualifications and Experience: (i) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree recognized by the Medical Council of India or a postgraduate degree in any of the following subjects: – Biochemistry – Chemistry – Anthropology – Sociology – Social Work – Food and Nutrition – Economics with specialization in Health Economics – Psychology – Biology – Bioscience – Entomology – Genetics – Medical Genetics – Immunology – Microbiology – Molecular Biology – Pharmacology – Pharmacy – Toxicology – Virology – Zoology – Biotechnology – Botany – Bioinformatics – Biostatistics
(ii) Four years’ experience in Research and Development or Teaching or working in the public sector or government-recognized institutions.
Note 1: The period of deputation, including the period of deputation in another Ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government, should ordinarily not exceed four years.
Note 2: The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation should not exceed fifty-six years as on the last date of receipt of applications.

(b) Qualifications and Experience: The candidate should possess one of the following qualifications and experience:
(i) Doctor of Medicine or Master of Surgery or Diplomate of National Board or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India with five years of Research and Development or Teaching or working experience from public sector or Government-recognized institutions, or
(ii) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree recognized by the Medical Council of India with Doctor of Philosophy and four years of Research and Development or Teaching or working experience from public sector or Government-recognized institutions, or
(iii) Doctor of Philosophy from a recognized University in any of the following subjects: – Biochemistry – Chemistry – Anthropology – Sociology – Social Work – Food and Nutrition – Economics with specialization in Health Economics – Psychology – Biology – Bioscience – Entomology – Genetics – Medical Genetics – Immunology – Microbiology – Molecular Biology – Pharmacology – Pharmacy – Toxicology – Virology – Zoology – Biotechnology – Botany – Bioinformatics – Biostatistics The candidate should have five years of Research and Development or Teaching or working experience from public sector or Government-recognized institutions.
(iv) Post Graduate degree in any of the following subjects: – Biochemistry – Chemistry – Anthropology – Sociology – Social Work – Food and Nutrition – Economics with specialization in Health Economics – Psychology – Biology – Bioscience – Entomology – Genetics – Medical Genetics – Immunology – Microbiology – Molecular Biology – Pharmacology – Pharmacy – Toxicology – Virology – Zoology – Biotechnology – Botany – Bioinformatics – Biostatistics The candidate should have eight years of Research and Development or Teaching or working experience from public sector or Government-recognized institutions.
Note 1: The period of deputation, including the period of deputation in another Ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government, should ordinarily not exceed four years.
Note 2: The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation should not exceed fifty-six years as on the last date of receipt of applications.

(i) Doctor of Medicine or Master of Surgery or Diplomate of National Board or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India, or (ii) Doctor of Philosophy from a recognized University in any of the following subjects: – Biochemistry – Chemistry – Anthropology – Sociology – Social Work – Food and Nutrition – Economics with specialization in Health Economics – Psychology – Biology – Bioscience – Entomology – Genetics – Medical Genetics – Immunology – Microbiology – Molecular Biology – Pharmacology – Pharmacy – Toxicology – Virology – Zoology – Biotechnology – Botany – Bioinformatics – Biostatistics The candidate should have seven years of Research and Development or Teaching or working experience from public sector or Government-recognized institutions.
Note 1: The period of deputation, including the period of deputation in another Ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government, should ordinarily not exceed four years.
Note 2: The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation should not exceed fifty-six years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
