If you are a technical or engineering professional with experience in sustainable product design and responsible sourcing, we are seeking a dedicated professional to join our organization's Global Sustainability team as Global Product Sustainability Lead in Europe!

In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to craft the future of sustainable design within Emerson, driving innovation through research collaborations and staying at the forefront of industry trends.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Working with the product environmental compliance team to integrate regulatory considerations into sustainable product design strategy and guidelines.
  2. Supporting product development teams in implementing measures to reduce emissions and enhance product circularity.
  3. Driving projects that serve as standard process examples.
  4. Improving and enhancing Emerson’s sustainable new product design guidelines.
  5. Keeping abreast of external sustainable design trends and participating in industry forums.
  6. Facilitating collaborations with external partners such as universities for research and innovation projects.

Product sustainability reporting includes:

  1. Leading and expanding Emerson's global product carbon footprint analysis activities.
  2. Providing technical expertise and collaborating on research and projects.
  3. Enhancing methodologies and communication collateral in line with best practices and regulations.
  4. Streamlining project processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  5. Promoting the adoption of product carbon footprint analyses across major product lines globally.
  6. Developing external resource relationships beneficial for future product development.
  7. Collaborating with the Scope 3 reporting team to improve data quality and forecasting.
  8. Training and supporting sales and marketing teams to communicate results effectively.
Supply chain support
  1. Collaborate with the Responsible Sourcing team to improve data collection and reduce Scope 3 upstream emissions.
  2. Assist in decarbonization scenario analyses and creating roadmaps for key materials.
  3. Engage with supply chain teams to promote sustainable procurement and transportation strategies early in product development.
Who you are

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, environmental science, physics, mathematics, materials science, or similar.
  • Proven experience in product design or management.
  • Leadership or managerial experience.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Strong project management skills.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 5+ years in product design or management, preferably in sustainable design.
  • Knowledge of current trends, processes, and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence global teams.
  • Experience in industrial automation or similar sectors.
