Capital Fund Management (CFM) is seeking a talented Merger Arbitrage Analyst to join our Systematic Strategies team in Paris or London. This pure research role focuses on sourcing and assessing M&A opportunities globally, evaluating deal dynamics and regulatory pathways.

You will translate qualitative deal information into actionable signals for our systematic framework and collaborate with the quantitative team to shape event-driven ideas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in M&A roles (IB, PE, hedge fund event-driven desk, or M&A sales).
• Proven ability to form and defend strong conviction views on deal outcomes.
• Understanding of regulatory approval processes and deal mechanics from live transactions.
• Ability to identify positioning opportunities and propose trading strategies.
• Collaborative mindset for a systematic investment environment.
• Buy-side experience in event-driven or merger arbitrage.
• Familiarity with quantitative investment platforms.

Responsabilités

• Assess announced and pre-deal M&A situations globally.
• Evaluate willingness of buyers and sellers to complete transactions.
• Analyze regulatory and approval dynamics across jurisdictions.
• Provide views on how stocks should behave during and after deal announcements.
• Translate qualitative deal information into actionable signals for our framework.
• Propose trading strategies in conjunction with the quant team.
